Antique Singer Sewing Machine with Cabinet

Item Details

An antique Singer sewing machine with cabinet. The sewing machine is made of cast iron with nickel plated steel parts. It is marked ‘Singer’, with serial number G559363, and features intricate Eastlake Victorian style motifs. The machine can be folded down inside the cabinet when not in use. The cabinet is made of oak, and wood veneers, with a cast iron base and footrest/treadle. The cast iron base has ‘Singer’ in the center, and the letter ‘S’ on the sides. The cabinet has a hinged top that can hide the machine when it’s not in use, and can be folded out to provide a larger work surface when the machine is being used. There are two drawers to either side of the kneehole opening, which are fitted with ornate brass handles. It is located on the main floor of the home.
