An oil painting on canvas by contemporary artist Tom Levine (American, b.1945) titled Opus 28 #2. Executed during 1978-79, the work depicts a modern composition of a square with green and red halves situated on a white background. This piece is signed, titled, and dated to the verso in black ink. Also on verso, the numbers ‘28/2’ are written in graphite.
Levine was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, and has painted since a young boy. His abstract and figurative work can be found in museum collections, as well as numerous corporate collections. Levine received a BA in English and Business from Miami University, a Master’s in Psychology and Communications from The University of Denver, and an M.F.A. in Art History from the University of Cincinnati.
