Vintage George Brett Pine Tar Special Louisville Slugger Bat
Item Details
A ‘Pine Tar Special’ Louisville Slugger, branded with George Brett’s signature. The bat has a pine tar stain on the handle, from the tip almost to the Louisville Slugger brand, and has Brett’s signature branded near the end of the barrel, along with 7-24-83, the date of the famed incident. During that game between the Kansas City Royals and the New York Yankees, Brett hit a home run with a bat covered by a questionable amount of tar for grip. The home run was challenged, nullified, then overturned, and the game was later partially replayed.
