1876 Jean Meissonier Etching "Two Cavaliers Drinking"

An 1876 Jean Louis Ernest Meissonier ( French, 1815-1891 ) etching of his famous painting, Two Cavaliers Drinking. Presented on wove paper, with the two cavaliers astride their horses, drinking in front of a country inn. Meissonier’s signature is in plate to the lower right, with a remarque depiction of a cowboy feeding his horse in the lower margin. Housed securely under glass, with a black and gold mat and matching black and gold frame.

- toning; wear present is consistent with age and use.
