Antique Cecilian Phonograph in Mahogany Case
Item Details
An antique Cecilian phonograph in a mahogany case. This phonograph has a domed, beveled lid which hinges open to expose the turntable, needle arm, and a marking on the underside of the lid which reads ‘Cecilian’; there is a control dial near one corner to control the speed, and a plunger lever on one side, along with a hand crank for operation. The speaker is housed beneath a pierced section just below the top, in a scrolling foliate lyre design; and there are swinging doors beneath that which open to reveal shelf storage for records. The piece stands on squared legs with metal castor feet.

Condition
- in operable condition when tested; some minor scratches and scuffs along bottoms of legs; slight stains along one side; castors are slightly rusted; may benefit from a cleaning; in quite good shape overall.
