A signed limited edition woodblock print on paper abstract scene by contemporary artist Ricardo Morin (Venezuela / New York; b. 1954), circa 1980. This piece depicts an abstract scene with intertwined non-representational forms rendered in varied intensities and applications of black tonalities within a white background. The print is constructed in a contrasting balance between light, shadow, and space. This work is signed and dated by the artist in graphite to the lower right corner, with an additional inscription in graphite stating ‘Artist Proof’ to the lower left corner of the composition. Unframed, awaiting presentation of choice.
Morin immigrated to the United States from Venezuela in 1972. Based in New York and New Jersey, Morin received his B.F.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his M.F.A. at Yale University. His work has been exhibited at multiple institutions including the Bronx Museum of the Arts; the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York; the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts in Brooklyn, New York; and many others.
