Marc Chagall Offset Lithographic Bookplate "The Wedding Night"

A framed 1977 offset lithograph bookplate from the 1977 George Barziller publication of works by very well-listed and renowned Russian-born French artist Marc Chagall (France/New York/Russian Federation, 1887 – 1985), titled Daphnis and Chloe. This print is titled The Wedding Night. The right half of the image depicts a nude couple embracing in their wedding bed as a crowd of their family and friends stand just outside their door to the left half of the image. The piece is matted in pale heather gray with a central stripe of matting covering the image where the print would be creased from its original inclusion in the publication. The print is presented behind acrylic glass in a wooden frame with cast embellishments and gold tone finish. A hanging wire is attached to the verso.
