Ricardo Morin Oil Painting on Linen "Silent Diptych"

An oil painting on linen diptych titled Silent Diptych by contemporary artist Ricardo Morin (Venezuela/New York; b. 1954), dated 2010. The work is comprised of two canvases that each depict an abstract scene with colorful swaths of paint. The use of orange is a connecting color between the two compositions. To the verso, each piece is signed, titled, and dated by the artist in black ink. The items are presented without frames or hanging wire.
Morin immigrated to the United States from Venezuela in 1972. Based in New York and New Jersey, Morin received his B.F.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his M.F.A. at Yale University. His work has been exhibited at multiple institutions including the Bronx Museum of the Arts; the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York; the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts in Brooklyn, New York; and many others. - canvases have been relined; mild warping to the stretcher bars resulting in pieces not flush with one another.
