Jules Verne "Around the World in Eighty Days" French First Edition

A rare early French language edition of Jules Verne’s classic adventure novel Le Tour de Monde en 80 Jours (Around the World in 80 Days), by the original French publisher J. Hetzel. The work was first published in 1873; this edition, unfortunately, is not dated except for a hand-written inscription by a previous owner to the front flyleaf in pencil, which is dated 1876. The last page has the printer’s code ‘1757 — 73’. It is illustrated with engravings and has gilt page edges.

- light cover wear and paper discoloration consistent with age.
