An oil painting on linen on board titled Still Twenty-eight from the Metaophors of Silence series by contemporary artist Ricardo Morin (Venezuela/New York b. 1954). Executed in 2012, this work is depicted in a cubist manner using geometric shapes to create an abstract figure in bright hues. To the verso, the series name, artist, medium, and year are present in black ink. Hanging hardware is not included with this piece.
Morin immigrated to the United States from Venezuela in 1972. Based in New York and New Jersey, Morin received his B.F.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his M.F.A. at Yale University. His work has been exhibited at multiple institutions including the Bronx Museum of the Arts; the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York; the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts in Brooklyn, New York; and many others.
