A hand-painted ingoma hand drum. This ingoma hand drum (ingoma is Kirundi for ‘kingdom’) is like the drums used in the Gishora ‘ritual dance of the royal drums’ events held in Burundi and Rwanda. This drum is hand-painted with the colors of the Burundi flag, tapers to a base, and features leather, rope, and wood to construct the head.
