A mid century chrome finished Sputnik chandelier. The Sputnik chandelier was one of the classics of the Atomic Age of design which began in the wake of the launch of the Soviet satellite Sputnik. It was originally conceived as a whimsical parody of that device’s round form and sprite-like antennae.
This chandelier will need your choice of hardware to hang from. The electric connection consists of an old rubber-clad wire running through a chain, that is approximately 22’ long, with a plug on the end. This fixture requires six medium based bulbs, and two three pack boxes of GE crystal clear bulbs are included in this lot.
