Mary Cassatt Etching and Drypoint "The Coiffure"

An etching and drypoint titled The Coiffure by highly regarded and well listed American artist, Mary Cassatt (1844 – 1926). This intaglio print utilizes a la poupée color technique in shades of rose, tan, and sepia, depicting a woman seated before a mirror. The is an illegible notation to the lower left margin. The print is inscribed to the lower right margin, reading ‘To Mr. Lucas with my best compliments… Mary Cassatt’; the remainder is illegible. The Coiffure is presented behind a white mat, protected behind glass in a decorative gilt frame.
Condition
- Small crack in the top right corner of the mirror.
- Print was removed from the frame for authentication purposes.
- Print is adhered to the back mat.
