Lakota Sioux Pottery Collection

A Lakota Sioux Pottery collection. The collection is comprised of five individual hand-thrown pieces using red clay from the Dakota Black Hills, and fine Kentucky white clay, decorated with traditional motifs. Included in the collection is a large sunset painted vase with white incised mountain and arrowhead designs. The vase is signed Sun Rose on underside. A brown glazed vase with flared lip is decorated with designs symbolizing mountains, arrowheads, and reinforcements, signed L. Red Elk on foot. A Hunter signed creamer bears the symbol of the conical tipi tent and rising sun, and is joined by a Mary B Sun creamer. The final Sioux pottery piece is a small red-brown bud vase with white mountain range design symbols. Also included in the collection is a red drip glaze vase with expressive signature on bottom.
