A collection of vintage books on organized crime. This collection includes the nonfiction books Chicago Surrenders by Edward Dean Sullivan (New York: The Vanguard Press, 1930), Muscling In by Fred D. Palsey (New York: Ives Washburn, 1931), Criminals and Politicians by Denis Tilden Lynch (New York: Macmillan, 1932), and Lords of the Levee: The Story of Bathhouse John and Hinky Dink by Lloyd Wendt and Herman Kogan (Indianapolis: Bobbs-Merrill, 1943). Also included is Wiseguys by Vincent Teresa (New York: Thomas Congdon-E. P. Dutton, 1978), billed as ‘a novel by an ex-mafioso.’
Condition
- Good to fair condition; Chicago Surrenders shows discoloration to cover and cloth missing from spine; fraying cloth on Muscling In; wear to dust jacket on Wiseguys; cap and tail damage; edge wear; general shelf wear throughout.
