Wassily Kandinsky "Accord" Limited Edition Lithograph
Item Details
A limited edition lithograph titled Accord, circa 1943, by Russian painter and art theorist, Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944). Kandinsky is best known for creating some of the earlier known examples of abstract art inspired by synesthesia – the capacity to see sound and hear colour. This piece is signed in plate and features the artist’s monogram in the lower left corner of the actual print. It is numbered 203 out of an edition of 300 directly underneath the signature in the lower margin. Kandinsky’s name is written in pencil by an unknown hand to the backside of the print underneath the mat, featuring the title as well. The print has a single white mat and is housed behind plexiglass in a simple metal frame with a wire for hanging to the verso.
