A handwoven Karaja accent rug. This semi-antique wool rug features two cerulean octagonal medallions flanking a hooked medallion over a madder red field that is populated with geometric boteh, foliage, and diamond shapes. The medallions feature cruciform shapes at the point ends. The rug’s unresolved main border is periwinkle with a design of eight-pointed stars flanking double diamonds. The overall palette is madder red, cerulean, periwinkle, cream, coral, tan, black, and ivory. The rug has short ivory fringe at either end and is unmarked.
