An Ansonia Music and Poetry figural mantel clock dating to circa 1894. This clock features a large center tower in which the open encasement enameled clock face rests. Flanking it are two cast metal figures, ‘Music’ and ‘Poetry’, in a gold tone finish. The clock has an eight day movement and strikes a gong at every hour and half-hour. Marked ‘Ansonia Clock Co. Patented’ on the clock face.
