A selection of circa 1940s framed wall art prints by the Turner Manufacturing Company of Chicago. Two matching works depict a mid-19th-century woman in a large ball gown holding a fan to her face, standing within a suggestion of a garden. The other depicts a Victorian couple, she with a large skirt and leg of mutton sleeves, he with an elaborately tied cravat. This is presented in a wooden frame with scrolling foliate ornamentation wired for hanging, and the matching pair are presented in complementary plastic frames. Each work is signed ‘Turner’ within the image.
Condition
- frames are dirty; wooden frame is slightly cracked in some places, and has torn backing paper.
