Ricardo Morin Oil Painting on Linen "Triangulation Series No. 11"
Item Details
An oil painting on linen titled No. 11 from the Triangulation series by well-listed American artist Ricardo Morin (Venezuela, b. 1954). To the lower right corner is the artist’s signature and year. To the verso is the title, artist’s signature, medium, and year of production. Presented without a frame. The series focuses on the interaction between the medium and contemplation, both the artist’s and the viewer’s. This intention is reflected in the process behind the aesthetic. Triangulation is a meditation on the golden ratio. Here, the ratio of 1:1.618 manifests in a triangle diverging from a plane that is paradoxically flat and has depth. His work has been exhibited at multiple institutions including the Bronx Museum of the Arts; the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York; the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts in Brooklyn, New York; and many others. He is most well-known for his non-objective abstract paintings that exhibit a combination of linear delineation and fluidity. For more information about the artist, see the link below.
