Antique Singer Treadle Sewing Machine
Item Details
An antique Singer treadle sewing machine in an oak veneer cabinet. The cabinet features a flip open top with a shallow divided drawer to the apron, flanked by three stacked supply drawers to either side, over a rolling cast iron treadle base. The drawer fronts have recessed turned wood pulls with applied wood ornament. The sewing machine has a black metal housing with ornate gold tone decal embellishment, marked ‘The Singer Manufacturing Co.’ to top. The bobbin cover plate is marked ‘Patented Dec.5 -1882 Sept. 22 – 1885 July 19 – 1887 Aug. 21 – 1888 Jan. 13 -1891.’
Condition
- working condition is untested. The leather belt is broken. Some buckling and damage to veneer top. There appears to be a guard piece missing to treadle base.
