Signed Roy Lichtenstein Serigraph Poster for 1991 Salzburger Festspiele

A serigraph poster designed by Pop artist Roy Lichtenstein (1923-1997) advertising the opening of the 1991 Salzburger Festspiele (Salzburg Festival) in Austria. This work features a truncated image of a man playing the violin executed in Lichtenstein’s signatures comic book style with primary colors and Ben-Day dots. The 1991 festival celebrated the 200th anniversary of Mozart’s death, and the print reads ‘Salzburger Festspiele 1991, Mozart’ in large block letters. The printed image credit at the bottom reads ‘© Roy Lichtenstein 1991.’ In black ink, this work has been dedicated ‘To Tom’ and is signed by Roy Lichtenstein near the bottom. Presented behind glass and mounted on a white surface in a simple black wood frame, it is ready to hang with picture wire to the verso.
