A 19th century Gothic Revival period writing desk. This desk features an intricate wooden gallery with a shield to its center, surrounded by pierced Gothic trefoils and small shelves. The desk top lifts to reveal an interior storage area with multiple compartments. Burled wood accents adorn the corners and sides of this piece, with pierced quatrefoils and heavily turned legs on its feet.

- hard wax stain running from left side shelves along left side of piece; inside desk there are a few visible circular stains to wood surface; writing on interior; scratches throughout; wear consistent with age and use.
