Pair of Mezzotints "Pinkie" and "Blue Boy" by Edmund Wardle

A pair of mezzotints engraved by Edmund Wardle after original paintings by Thomas Lawrence and Thomas Gainsborough. The Blue Boy features a young male in a blue outfit standing in a dark toned landscape, copyrighted August 1st, 1928. Pinkie, a portrait of Sarah Barrett Moulton, shows a young female wearing a pink dress with a seascape in the background, copyrighted December 2nd, 1929. Both prints were published by Alfred Bell & Co. of London and printed in England. They are signed in the lower right-hand corner in pencil by the engraver, presented matted and under glass in matching frames.
Condition
Consistent with age. Some chips to frames and yellowing of paper.
