A first edtiion copy of Artistry in Single Action by Halton Henderson with a forward by J. Evetts Haley, signed by Halton Henderson, J. Evetts Haley, David Holman and Craig Jenson. The Chama Press, established in Dallas in 1989, was committed publishing fine, limited edition books on the Southwest. Artistry in Single Action, it’s first publication, tells the story of the Grizzly, the first single action revolver made in Texas after the Civil War and Edmond de la Garrigue, the eccentric genius who created it. In addittion, to the step by step account of the grizzly’s design, manufacture, and trials, the book contains a wealth of information on earlier six guns made in Texas and Colt’s post World War II rivals, both large and small. A handsome book, it received the runner-up award at the first Carl Hertzog Award for Excellence in book design. This copy was limited to 400 copies and was published in 1989 by Chama Press: Dallas.
