A gothic inspired art glass chalice by North Carolina artist David Wilson. This abstract piece is fashioned from rich, ebony colored glass with an asymmetrical silhouette. The bowl rests comfortably at the top and is carefully balanced by a tripod base accented with azure green glass. Wilson’s piece plays with form, function, and whimsy. It is etched to the underside ‘David Wilson 93.’ Wilson is an award winning artist who has worked with art glass since 1981. He resides and works in Burnsville, North Carolina with his wife, the artist Loretta Forde. Wilson has a long professional association with the Penland School of Craft, as both a student and teacher.
