A signed limited edition woodblock print titled, Scenery – Kyoto Series No. 45 circa 1973, by Japanese artist, Rikio Takahashi (高橋力雄, 1917-1999), who is considered one of the last true Sosaku Hanga artists, meaning “creative print”, often using subtle overlays of colors to create various opacities, textures, and shapes. Takahashi draws inspiration for most of his pieces from the beautiful garden in Kyoto, Japan. This woodcut depicts a series of layered oval objects that are stacked vertically with various other designs throughout in various shades of green, brown, tan, orange, and black with a hint of light and royal blue on an off-white background. This piece is pencil signed by the artist in the lower left margin, along with the title and is numbered 10 out of an edition of 40 to the lower right corner, also including the date. The print has a single white mat and is housed behind plexiglass in a simple metal frame with a wire for hanging to the verso.

Minor scratches to plexiglass and frame.
