Korean Moktak Fish Drum

Item Details

A Korean moktak wooden fish drum. The percussion instrument is used in both Buddhist and Daoist ritual throughout east Asia. The drum is incised with fish and is painted crimson and black. The heads of the fish meet to form a handle and the drumstick is held in the drum’s opening.
