An oil painting on canvas of a coastal scene by listed artist Stanley Woodward (1890-1970). This work features a truncated view of coastal rocks along the sea. The artists uses thick painterly brushstrokes of vibrant colors to capture a sense of texture in the rocks and movement in the water. The work is signed in black paint to the lower left. It is presented in a gold-tone wood frame with scrolled relief ornamentation. Woodward was a Massachusetts-based artist known for his landscapes, seascapes, and coastal paintings.
