E.T. Hurley Original Signed Etching
Item Details
A signed limited edition 1945 print of an original 1912 drypoint etching on paper by well-listed Cincinnati, Ohio printmaker and Rookwood pottery artist Edward Timothy (E.T.) Hurley (1869 – 1950). The print depicts a set of stone steps leading to an iron gate and an unknown destination beyond. The print is signed and dated ‘6-9-12’ in-plate to the lower right and is signed and dated 1945 in pencil just below this. The print is matted in off-white and presented behind non-glare glass in a wooden frame with hammered gold tone finish and a hanging wire. Condition
- paper is quite warped and yellowed with age. Foxing across print. Two spots of white residue to upper edge. Non-glare glass has become foggy.
