An original oil painting on board titled Himalayan Study by listed artist Eliot Candee Clark (American, 1883 – 1980), created in 1957. Depicted is a mountainous region with white colored peaks and a body of water at the base. To the right of the composition, two figures are rendered in an impressionistic manner under a tree. This piece is signed ‘Eliot Clark’ in the lower left corner. Housed in an ornate gilt frame, to the verso, an inscription on the board reads ‘(on the spot)/ Eliot Clark (1957)/ (Himalayan Study)’ A post-it note is also present to the board backing providing information on the previous owners. Hanging hardware is not installed on this piece.
