T. Lund Vintage Oil Painting on Canvas "Herzogin Cecilie"

An original oil painting on canvas, circa 1940, by an aritst named T. Lund. The painting is titled Hertzogin Cecille, the name of the German ship depicted in the scene. The painting seems to have been originally been titled Archibald Russell, the name of another sailing ship, though this title was crossed out and replaced with the former. The painting depicts the massive schooner on a choppy body of water, surrounded by a few ships in the distance and curiously hoisting an American flag. The painting is signed to the lower right and is presented in a wooden frame with white linen lining and a gold tone fillet. The piece is titled in ink to the verso.
Condition
- craquelure across painting. A hole to upper left corner has been repaired and inpainted. Signature has been copied over to increased definition.
