A mixed media collage on paper titled Roma #53 – Planes of light series by listed contemporary artist Nancy Genn (b.1929), dated 1992. This work features a series of geometrical forms, horizontal and convoluted lines intertwined, within brown, blue, pink, purple, gray and orange tonalities. Constructed with french paper, paint, printed areas, graphite and chine-colle of Japanese paper, creating a balanced composition between texture, color, and form within deckle-edge borders. The piece is graphite signed by the artist to the lower left corner. It is presented behind glass, laid on a floating white mat, and housed in a simple wooden frame. There is a ‘Toni Birckhead Gallery’ descriptive label, a ‘Scripps Howards, INC’ property label and wire attached to the verso.
