"Lee Reynolds" Original Mid Century Painting on Canvas
Item Details
An original, semi-abstract urbanscape painting on canvas signed ‘Lee Reynolds’ in the lower right corner. ‘Lee Reynolds’ was an umbrella name devised by Lee Reynolds Burr who owned Vanguard Studios in California and produced many paintings by different artists under that name. The Mid Century decorative painting in this lot presents a stylized, semi-abstract view from afar of a city skyline, mostly in terracotta and black, set against blazing yellows and white. At the very center is a small black shape that looks like a human form. The back of the painting is marked 675 8S. The work is framed in a simple painted wood frame and includes a wire on the verso for hanging.
