License Plate and Gas Cap Collection
Item Details
A collection of vintage license plates and automobile gas caps. The collection includes a number of Colorado license plates, dating from the 1930s to the 1970s. There is a white painted metal license plate, with red raised lettering, marked ‘Pluto – Just Passing Thru’. There are small, yellow painted metal tags with raised numbers including three with the number ‘52’, and three with the number ‘44’. There is a very old rectangular bronze colored license plate, marked with the state seal of Colorado, along with the date ‘1919’ and the numbers ‘070645’. The collection includes a variety of vintage automobile gas caps, made of brass, cast silver tone metal. Some of the caps are marked, including a brass cap marked ‘Maxwell’, a silver tone cap marked ‘Chevrolet’, and two marked ‘DB’. One is marked with a raised star. The others are not marked.

- license plates are standard 12" X 6"; various gas cap – smallest gold is 1.75" across.
