Stephen Pentak Oil on Paper "Broadwaters"
Item Details
An oil painting on paper titled Broadwaters by listed artist Stephen Pentak (b. 1951), created in 1991. This work features a hard-edge geometric painted area against a plain white background. The painted area is an abstract amalgamation of cool colors applied with a palette knife and gestural brushstrokes. The work is signed to the left of the lower center margin. To the right of the lower center margin, it is dated and marked ‘8.7’. The paper surface is mounted on the white background of the frame. Displayed under glass in a dark brown wood frame, this work is ready to hang with picture wire to the verso. A label from the Toni Birckhead Gallery is adhered to the verso, along with a sticker that reads ‘Property of Scripps Howard, Inc.’ Pentak is known for his paintings of abstracted landscapes.
