An original Impressionist oil painting on composite board by listed Pacific Northwest painter Signe A .Hedlund (Wasgington/Minnesota; 1900 – 1967), signed and dated 1967 in red paint to the lower right. The image, rendered with thick impasto paint applied primarily with a palette knife, depicts several docked sailboats in a picturesque harbor with low mountains on the horizon and quaint coastal cottages near the water’s edge. The reflections of the brightly colored sails dance along the shimmering ripples. The painting is mounted in a beveled wood frame with a distressed white painted finish with a wire to the verso.

Condition

- light accretion on painting and frame. Finish of frame is worn.
