A complete ten volume set of The Delphian Course, published by the Delphian Society of Chicago. The Delphian Society was founded in 1910 to promote the education of women, and is named for the Oracle of Delphi of ancient Greece. The Course was first published in 1913; this is the 1922 fourth edition. It covers a wide variety of liberal arts topics, primarily world history, literature and art, and the humanities. In addition to the ten hardcover volumes of the series, a softcover volume titled The Delphian Handbook, with information about the Society and the course, is also included.
