Hand Carved African Gourd Vessel and Masai Shield

Item Details

A handmade gourd vessel and ceremonial Masai shield. Both artifacts are hand constructed and decorated. The gourd has been dried, cleaned & dyed. Then its is etched using a knife to reveal the natural color below the dye. The African Masai tribal shield is made from animal hide and leather cording, and features a wood stretcher and handle.

Condition

Wear, dirt, chips; wear is consistent with age of pieces.
