Chinese Lacquered Folding Screen with Semi-Precious Stones
Item Details
A Chinese black lacquered folding screen with semi-precious stone inlays behind glass panels. The four screens are held together by brass tone hardware, with pierced and scrolled designs at the bottom. The interior depicts four flowering plants made from semi-precious stones, such as serpentine and coral, with compartments below them displaying more stones. These are all bordered by Chinese red and gilt floral fabric. The back of each panel also has hand painted flowers with Chinese calligraphy above each picture.
