The piece depicts the silhouette of a foliated tree situated to the right of the composition, with two towboats and barges navigating through the Ohio River after sunset. The Cincinnati skyline is faintly visible in the distant background. The piece is presented behind glass, under a double white and off-white linen mat board and housed in a simple bronze tone frame. A Toni Birckhead Gallery label and a Scripps Howard, Inc. property label are present to the verso. A pair of d-rings is also attached to the verso.
