An original 1932 oil painting on canvas by artist Edgar L. Smith, titled Fishing Wharf. According to a note to the verso, the painting was created in Montclair, New Jersey from a sketch created by the artist in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The painting depicts a masterful composition featuring a tall fishing boat docked along a wooden boathouse. Rippling water surrounds the vessel, beautifully mimicking the pale blue of the sky above. The painting is signed to the verso. It is presented in a wooden frame with textured gold tone finish and a hanging wire.
