A large collection of Bennington marbles. A group of fifty 1/2’ – 1’ marbles, and forty-six small marbles. Bennington marbles are a type of salt-glazed, clay marble. There are a few tri-colored marbles, which are referred to as “fancy Benningtons”. Benningtons are readily identifiable by both their coloring and the little “eyes”. These eyes are spots created when marbles were touching each other while being fired, resulting in spots being uncolored and unglazed.
