1880s Shelf Clock
Item Details
An 1880s shelf clock. The Victorian clock features a simple wood case, with raised brasshead nails in the four corners of the front. The front has a piece of glass to view the clock dial, which is white enameled metal, with black Roman numerals and hands. The dial is decorated with Eastlake style motifs, and is marked ‘CW Mfg. Co.’ The winding mechanism is accessed at the back of the clock case, with two fold-down brass winders, and a small knurled knob to set the hour. It is marked ‘Patented Sept. 22, 1885’.
