An 1878 antique Bible published by Thomas Kelly, Publisher in New York in 1878. The full title of this edition is The Holy Bible: Translated from the Latin Vulgate Diligently Compared with the Hebrew, Greek, and Other Editions in Various Languages. It is noted that ‘the Old Testament was first published by the English College at Douay A.D. 1609 and the New Testament by the English College at Rheims, A.D. 1582.’ This is a revised edition with annotations and includes a historical and chronological index. It has a detailed leather cover with a central figure of a cross and bronze tone hardware. The spine is embossed with gilt detailing.
