Antique Seth Thomas "Adamantine" Mantel Clock
Item Details
An antique Seth Thomas ‘Adamantine’ shelf clock. The shelf clock dates to the early twentieth century and is housed in a lustrous wood case with classic, clean lines. An arched top sits on a flat cap above the dial, which is flanked by fluted half-columns. The dial is ivory colored, with black Arabic numerals and hands, and is framed in gold tone metal. The clock rests on short, rectangular gold painted wood feet. The dial is marked ‘Seth Thomas – Made by Seth Thomas U.S.A.’ The back panel has the original label with instructions for operating the clock. ‘Adamantine’ refers to the patented wood finish. The clock label number is ‘295-C M.P. – 73990’. The brass movement is marked ‘Made in U.S.A. America’, and a key for the clock is included.
