Double-Sided Offset Lithograph of Andy Warhol Advertisements for Halston
Item Details
A vintage 1982 double-sided offset lithograph advertisement designed by famed American pop artist Andy Warhol (1928 – 1987), titled Fragrance and Cosmetics and Women’s Wear. The images are part of a series of advertisements designed by Warhol for a women’s clothing line designed by one of the artist’s best friends and collaborators Roy Halston Frowick (1932 – 1990), more commonly referred to as simply Halston. The prints depict bright pop-art style depictions of clothing set against vivid geometric forms. ‘HALSTON’ is printed to the lower margin of each in wide black lettering. The print is signed in-plate to each side and presented without matting or framing. Included in Andy Warhol Prints Catalogue Raisonne 1962-1987, Feldman/Schellman Fourth Edition Revised, entry Catalogue entry IIIB.9 and IIIB.10 on page 260.
Condition
- print is yellowed with age. Perpendicular creasing across image, which has ripped slightly to top and lower center creases.
