Claes Oldenburg and Coosje Van Bruggen Signed Limited Edition 1997 Giclée "House Ball with Fallen Toy Bear"

Item Details

A signed limited edition giclée on Japanese watercolor paper after the original vine charcoal and pastel drawing conceived and executed by very well-listed husband-and-wife duo, American modernist sculptor Claes Oldenburg (born 1929) and Coosje Van Bruggen (1942 – 2009), titled House Ball with Fallen Toy Bear published in 1997. The image depicted is derived from a ‘soft sculpture’ installation the two created for their performance piece Il Corso del Coltello, in which a woman named Georgia Sandbag, a character played by Coosje, gathered all of her possessions in her house and wrapped and tied them in a giant piece of cloth, forming a massive ball, and rolled it to its next destinations. This print is hand-signed by Oldenburg in pencil to the lower right, and numbered 43 in an edition of 50 in pencil to the lower left. This piece is unframed and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. For more information about the House Ball project, please visit the link below under Additional Information.
