Alfred Barye Bronze Sculpture of Wolf with Pups
Item Details
A 20th century recast bronze sculpture of a wolf with pups by listed artist Alfred Barye (1839-1882). The work depicts a wolf with a pair of sleeping puppies. At the base of one of the puppy’s tails, the work is inscribed with the artist’s signature. The sculpture is mounted onto a marble-like dark stone base with black felt to the bottom. Barye was well-known for his bronze sculptures of wild and domestic animals.
