Pair of Antique Stained Glass Suncatchers
Item Details
A pair of antique stained glass suncatchers. These two medallions are hand made of colored glass, painted glass, and coated and etched glass. Each features a hand-painted center panel, one of an eighteenth century man in a blue cloak looking back over his shoulder, the other, a three quarter profile of an eighteenth century woman in a green dress, matching hat, and pearl earrings. The background of this center panel features an area coated and then scratched to create the wall paper effect around the figures. This center section is bordered by green glass, then a circle of painted leaf sections separated by floral medallions, and then finally a border of the green. These pieces are leaded together in traditional stained glass styling.
